Children should not be in prison – it is a failed system that harms young people and wastes the state’s resources. Right now, Long Creek incarcerates 28 kids, has more than 150 staff, and has a budget of $18 million.

If Long Creek is closed, that $18 million could be invested in community-based alternatives for kids to remain close to home and receive the support they need.
