About that headline... putting kids under police surveillance and criminalizing their behavior is never "issue-free."
Here's an issue: "The cameras are used very infrequently and are only utilized when they are administering some sort of law enforcement authority... Googins said since September, the SROs’ body cameras have been used 51 times." 51 times in 3 months is NOT infrequent.

And this issue: "The officers also respond to non-school calls, he said, and he could not specify school-related camera use." If you can't say how many times they were used in the schools, you're not collecting enough data.

Also an issue: "South Portland’s video is stored at the police station. When minors are captured on video...their parent or guardian can review the footage." Police are recording kids at school & storing the footage at the police station. This is a violation of student privacy.

So yeah, we'd say there are issues with putting police with body cams in schools.
