I don’t want to be awkward on this day, but surely that decision pointed up to the rest of the world the very existence of a race-based caste system in the “land of the free and home of the brave.” Not a good advert for the United States.

The world pretty much knew about our race-based system thanks to our segregation of troops during the world wars. French praised black soldiers who served alongside them in WW1. Europeans, no doubt, read or heard about soldiers being attacked by whites upon returning from war.

The decision was a great milestone but 60+ years later AfAms struggle to receive Quality Education in America because of the great white and AfAm middle class flight to establish private schools. Public schools are Underfunded physically and academically for the past 5 decades.

AfAms students lag 30% behind white students in achievements. In the 60s Maryland deceived integration compliance by 1st integrating teachers. MD swapped 20 of the best degree & certified AfAm teachers from AfAm schools & sent non degree white housewives to teach AfAms students.
