The Supreme Court has long recognized that peaceful protesters cannot be held liable for the unintended, unlawful actions of others. If the law said otherwise, there would have been no Civil Rights Movement.

In a perfect world, there would be no need for an organization like the ACLU. Sadly, decisions revoking protections like this show that there is a major need.
