This ruling is a victory for immigrants and communities of color across America. It is a victory for democracy itself. Everyone MUST come together to make sure that the 2020 census counts every person.

BREAKING: In our case, the Supreme Court has struck the citizenship question from the 2020 census. The Trump administration’s attempt to politicize and manipulate this fundamental pillar of our democracy has failed. Our communities will be counted.

Does this end the census fight? Or might the administration justify adding the question sometime in the future?

It’s a temporary “victory”, SCOTUS gave the administration the option to argue for it again before them with a better explanation in October but I don’t think that would be enough time for the 2020 census.
