There's an obvious solution to this situation. It's publically funding all family planning services on a federal level. If you're against publically funding abortion, you're not actually pro-choice. Lack of family planning is the major driver of intergenerational poverty.

refusing to pay for <> denying. But you already know that.
#OrwellianACLU -
Denying COVERAGE. That = refusal to pay.
-
a reminder: birth control costs about $9/mo.
-
A reminder it was covered before.
-
The point is, would people rather pay $9 out of pocket, or double premiums? ( which is what happened to us at work). From $700 to over $1300 per month.
-
Not from covering birth control.

Someone else’s religion and the government have no right to tell a women what to do with their bodies. Decisions about reproductive health are between the woman and her doctor.
-
I agree. So why does the government force you to vaccinate your kids? They are my responsibility!! Can’t have it both ways!
-
Because it's a public health risk

This also affects the millions of women who require hormonal birth control treatments not for contraception but for medical conditions such as Endometriosis and PCOS.

-
Then they could simply use insurance to receive birth control, and prove to their employer that they have a rare condition. Insurers could also confirm the condition, and they’d still have access.
-
These “rare” conditions actually affect 1 in 10 women. Nearly 20% of women (and 33% of teenage girls) who are using hormonal contraceptives are doing so for medial reasons, not as birth control. The last thing patients and insurance companies need is more bureucratic paperwork!
-
I’m sure it can be coded as a hormone and not birth control.
-
Not their business why or what medication I take for what reason. It should be between me and my Dr. and no one else. Just like my husband's meds for his diabetes, cholesterol, high bp. Doesn't matter if it is because of genetic reasons or lifestyle choices.
-
All insurance requires proper coding, or they won’t pay, and it can be quite complicated...but I agree, medical decisions should be your business!

But you want the government to continue to pay for it. You can not have it both ways. If you want no interference pay for it yourself.
-
That goes for your damned cancer drugs too then. Birth control medication is used for Von Willebrand's Disease, Polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, and a whole constellation of medical issues for women.
