BREAKING: Florida just voted to restore voting rights to 1.4 million people. #YesOn4 1 in 10 Floridians had been shut out of our democracy. Tonight that changes — this is a huge victory thanks to the relentless activism of the Florida Rights Restoration Coalition.pic.twitter.com/c2cLNB4IjG

This historic win in Florida is the first of several criminal justice reforms we're hoping to see tonight. #YesOn4 We're tracking them here:https://www.aclu.org/blog/smart-justice/7-smart-justice-ballot-questions-were-fighting-election-day …

10% of Florida’s population are...felons? That is a crazy stat to think about.

Same, currently live in NYC. People love saying it. But I’ve seen 1000% crazier things here than I ever saw in FL. Also, Florida laws are a lot more open to reporting details of incidents than other states. Additionally, I like to remind ppl that FL has more ppl than NY state.

Thank you, Florida, for voting to restore the rights of prior felons who’ve paid their debt to society. They are citizens who deserve their rights! Thank you all who voted to repeal. #BlueTsunami

Just heard NPR program about the hoops people had to jump through including standing in front of Scott & others, apologizing for their crime & convincing them to restore their right to vote! Barbaric! So glad that it over!!

Scott is unadulterated evil. To make human beings, who’ve paid their debt to society thoroughly, through such an Inquisition is criminal. Let’s hope he’s voted out. ❤️

STAY IN LINE. and we need to stop this nonsense and look at the real voter fraud, which is the suppression that Republicans have done in Georgia and Florida.

Now we need some boots on the ground to register voters. 1.4 million can be a huge impact on all of these close races. Florida, I will see you in 2020.
