We’re heading into court right now to fight the Trump administration’s plan to put a citizenship question on the 2020 census.pic.twitter.com/1HHmdVbEoX

Rain won’t stop us — we demand a free, fair, and full accounting from the census, not another tool the Trump administration can use to scare immigrant families.pic.twitter.com/sJDUKmKkQ9

I don’t like trump one bit but shouldn’t a country have SOME sort of system for gauging how many of it’s inhabitants are official citizens vs how many are immigrants, refugees, students, tourists, etc?

It does, citizens have their own database because they’re documented citizens, that’s part of what documented citizen means. Censuses aren’t about citizens, they’re about taking comprehensive useful population data that needs to be unbiased for it to have scientific merit.

You’re just protecting California so they won’t lose any electoral votes due to the large amount of illegals living there

Undocumented immigrants can't vote. Furthermore, they wouldn't take the risk of outing themselves by attempting to do so.

His insinuation is that illegals answering the census would elevate the electoral counts for California when it is supposed to be based off citizenship numbers and not population.
