For years, the Kenton County Sheriff’s Office defended the handcuffing of elementary school students with disabilities. Now it will pay up.https://www.aclu.org/blog/disability-rights/disability-rights-and-education/children-cruelly-handcuffed-win-big …

Both families are receiving six figures but banks, they were rewarded $700 billion for their mistake plus yearly bonuses. "And that's wrong as well" is an understatement.

We need to create a society where banks can't tank the economy to make a handful of people uber rich. Unfortunately, with Trump and the @GOP, we're going backwards.

I hear ya! Maybe if we know where our tax dollars are going possible through a Blockchain (full transparency on public funds) in the government, we can decide from there where to redirect the funds. Because spending it on banks and defense isn't priority right now.

Once again ACLU, you have fought the good fight and won... expanding the civil rights of Americans. These children who were traumatized must, sadly live with that memory, but you have prevented harm done to any more children. Thank you!

Handcuffing children is not an effective disciplinary strategy from my perspective and it seems like an ineffective and harmful approach to behavioral management

Well, donnie doesn't like the disabled, so the entire @GOP and their supporters hate them too, and like to make fun of them. And they have a 'thing' for putting children in cages and making them suffer. So putting handcuffs on disabled children makes total sense to them. #Sick

Where did they learn to cuff anyone together above the elbows? While cuffing children with mental disabilities can be debated, I can't stand behind cuffing anyone that way. Cuffs aren't meant to be comfortable, but they also aren't meant to be used that way either.

There are also special rooms set up with no furniture or glass in them for children to de-escalate. It is completely unnecessary and traumatizing at best. Leading to serious physical injury possibly

I can definitely see where it can be traumatizing. Hell if my small child was handcuffed, I'd want to know what my child even did to warrant it. It'd be different if it was maybe an assaultive teen. But small children shouldn't be handcuffed.
