Pregnancy discrimination has been illegal for 40 years. So why are employers making life hell for pregnant and breastfeeding workers?https://www.aclu.org/blog/womens-rights/pregnancy-and-parenting-discrimination/employees-who-have-babies-are-still?redirect=blog/womens-rights/pregnancy-and-parenting-discrimination/despite-pregnancy-discrimination-act …

Because the law is in place unfortunately this behaviour of discriminating against women is still socially acceptable to many.

When a business identifies a source of productivity loss, they will naturally try to eliminate it.

Cafe doesn’t bring enough money to hire someone else, and you’re going down. Both. Because someone decided to have a child that tou have to pay for, but it’s not even yours. Result: no coffee on the street, no money for business owner, no money for worker. Nobody in profit here.

What abt more invisible discrimination when returning to work means the inability to attend after hours work events when others w/o young child care needs can, and are seen in a more positive light? It negatively affects promotions, pay, and perceived commitment to the job.
