We are survivors, not victims. Do not pity us. We are over it. We just won't be quiet anymore. Among other things to ensure that those experiencing shame & social ostracism realize they are not alone.

the critique isn't that it "celebrates victimhood" the critique is that it is in wide parts a hysterical witch hunt used to get rid of political and personal inopportune people by bypassing due process via public opinion pressure.

it is like claiming the critique on witch burnings was that burning piles of wood are an uneconomic method of execution and not sustainable laughable

Critics will do anything to silence us, bc that is how they have gotten away with rampant sexual assault for centuries. We will not be silenced anymore. #sunshine

That's like the pot calling the kettle urban Have you listened to some of these rape apologists & defenders? If I were to celebrate being a victim of sexual abuse I'd have a whole different plan than calling out abusers in power. #MeToo #DownWithDouchebags #MuellerTime

It's not about victimhood. It's about forcing people to believe us whether it's true or not. Even if we are lying we should be able to say what we want. Children get to pretend. Why not women? We are strong. We are powerful. We are united. We won't be silenced.

That is well said, and it’s ridiculous that anyone would criticize this movement. The main thing it’s about is recognizing a problem in our society so we can try to fix it.

I understand that a lot of people have trouble understanding this. That’s part of what we’re working on. Keep an open mind, and I bet you’ll start to get it.
