What the Trump administration is reportedly considering is disgraceful. Refusing to protect people who can prove they are fleeing persecution would be a huge moral failure. ANY plan along these lines will be subject to intense legal scrutiny.https://www.nytimes.com/2018/10/25/us/politics/trump-army-border-mexico.html …

The US immigr laws need major overhaul to protect a nation of over 350M people. The absurdity of a ‘caravan’ of thousands passing through Mexico unimpeded to the ‘promised land USA ’ claiming ‘political asylum’ makes a mockery of thousands waiting to immigrate to the USA legally

It’s more funny that 350 million plus ppl are threatened by 1-2 thousand ppl.

No one has a problem with 40,000 pregnant Russian women coming to the US to stay at Trump properties until they have their anchor babies and then when the kids are of legal age, they can bring their families to the US on chain migration visas.

In a strange way, he could actually turn this to his advantage by rushing translators and application processors to the border instead of troops. Give them fast due process for asylum and then quickly reject the phonies. So why not do that? Because fear and hate play better.

What is the ACLU’s definition of persecution? If they use the word “persecution” in the same way they use the word “racist”, then half of this country is persecuted. What about the rights of the people in the immigration cue legally?

The point is that our system is broken when there are so many people applying for asylum and we don’t have the facilities to deal with them. So we just release them. Hell, I would come here too. Our damn congress needs to get their act together and focus on their own citizens.
