Straight ticket voting keeps the lines moving. All voters may vote candidate by candidate if they choose, but why force people to spend more time checking every box when they want to vote straight party?

"Keeps the lines moving" is quite possibly the shittiest argument I've heard for permitting people to vote without even looking at the damned ballot. Encourage more absentee/mail-in balloting if you want to give people time.

Why would I won't someone registering and voting the same day? Why would I think that person is informed enough to vote when they didn't even have the foresight to register before hand.
