Corrine Brown went to federal prison, not jail. Her district (CD5 now) was remapped a couple of times in her 24 year career. She was a big loser in the 2016 remapping. But CB’s seat always was anchored in Duval County. The Yoho seat does abut Duval but does not contain it. twitter.com/A_J_Christense

I think we are talking about different things. Up until 2016 the non Duval parts of her district were incidental. It was toward Orlando. But the map was a joke because it wasn’t a meaningfully connected district, except as “communities of interest” as CB put it in defending it.

Ultimately whether it was 5 or 3 doesn’t matter. It was Corrine’s seat and everyone knew it except for those Republican martyrs who queued up to lose to her.
