Anthony and I married yesterday on our 20th anniversary and the 10th anniversary of our civil partnership.
It was a lovely day and we want to thank our family and friends for their love and support.
We also thank the 7.8m Australians who voted yes to marriage equality.
From today, newly purchased zero emissions vehicles (ZEVs) will receive two years of free registration in the ACT.
The ACT just became the first jurisdiction in Australia to pass 95% first dose COVID-19 vaccinations for people aged 12 years and over.
After more than a year without local covid cases, it is incredibly disappointing and frustrating that state borders are again being shut to Canberrans.
Canberra is not part of Greater Sydney.
Will pass 98% first dose in the ACT today.
Walk in vaccinations now available at the AIS Arena.
Let’s see how close we can get to 100%.
Striving for as close to 100% vaccination coverage as we can get and doing so as quickly as we can.
Slow vaccine supply was always the constraint holding us back.
80% double dose coverage should be a floor not a ceiling.
The more people vaccinated the safer the community.
I don’t think this is well enough understood.
40% of the population.

Most Canberrans understand, whether it's a 20-year-old caught with a pill in their pocket on a night out, or someone grappling with a debilitating and harmful meth addiction, a criminal conviction is not going to positively change their behaviour.

There is a lag in the Commonwealth data. ACT has now passed 70% first dose.

Here they go… again 🙄
Another reason for Canberrans to vote them out on Saturday.
The National Plan- with key points highlighted about the much talked about 70% and 80% thresholds.
The ACT Plan is to get well beyond 80% of our population vaccinated.
Over 50s are already beyond 80% on first doses. It is only lack of vaccine supply holding back the under 50s.
To limit community transmission and keep the community safe from the Omicron variant of COVID-19, the ACT Government has reintroduced the mandatory use of face masks when in an *indoor* place from 11.59pm Tuesday 21 December 2021.

A deterioration today – with high wind gusts, heat, dust, smoke haze and likely thunderstorm – has led to the decision being made.

Now that the result is known it needs to be said that the same-sex marriage postal survey was a shockingly bad process.
It should never be repeated.
LGBTIQ people in this country should not have been singled out in this way.
The ACT has reached 80% of our 12+ population fully vaccinated this afternoon. ✅✅
This triggers the next step in our pathway forward.
Details of the next step will be outlined tomorrow.

We understand that winter is a higher risk period for Covid transmission and states that have experienced extended lockdowns themselves will have low risk appetites for interstate travellers.
We are asking all states to remove the restrictions on the ACT as soon as possible.
