    Iowa could learn from Taiwan tonight. iirc, the polls closed at 4PM and the results were almost finished reporting by 8 or 9. It's tamper free, and efficient. No need for apps.

    Yes, it is true that Lai is still technically a "civilian", despite claims by most Taiwanese media using similar titles. But such is the intention of this setup. Interesting enough for now is how Lai's "civilian" status will give him room to maneuver during this trip.

    It is incorrect to call this the highest-level visit by a Taiwanese official since 1979. William Lai has not yet been sworn in as vice president. He is not an official.

    Those who die in the Wuhan epidemic are not just numbers. They are real human beings. Sadly, Professor Lu Caiquan, a scholar of early modern China, died without not even being tested for the and thus won't be counted in the numbers of people who died from that virus.

    Historian of Early Modern China, Professor at Wuhan University, Lu Caiquan passed away today. Official obituary addresses it's not , but netizens have different opinions. My deepest condolences.
