Great that the parents supported their daughter! Teacher gave an assignment to students to write what their utopia would be, girl writes her own opinion and then the teacher quits because of it, and some bullying? Teacher is supposed to be the adult and able to handle criticism.

The assignment wasn't to criticize their teacher and deliberately hurt her feeling or attack who she is. That'd be an F in my book for completely missing the point.

Kids learn the hate and judgment at home and then use "free speech" as an excuse to express that hate outside. This now goes into this teen's record and people will judge her for it in the future. Society moves forward. Homophobia will have no place in it.

Being against someone's rights & calling them "homo" is not just an opinion, it's hate speech & it is of course offensive to that person. I would not want a teacher teaching that straight people should not have the same rights as gay people, or derisively called them "breeders."
