And society wonders why so few people step up to offer a helping hand these days: you try and do a good deed and be helpful during a disaster....and the police come after you for it?! 😡

It today’s world I shouldn’t be surprised by the colossal idiocy of a bureaucracy, but this does it. Perhaps all the inbreeding by them there folks in Wayne’s County, NC has had a detrimental effect on their ability to comprehend common sense.
It is an outrage to condemn someone for doing the right thing as far as saving lives. Drastic circumstances call for drastic measures and saving these animals from near certain death was the act of a kind, charitable person.
I'm not an animal lover, other than our own dog, but I have lived through a disaster like this and anyone willing to put themselves into a position to help an animal should be awarded with praise. If there are any attorneys in the area it would look good to help this person out.

Another thought; is this what we as a society represent? A police state where the individual is forced into submission? Someone turned her in. The story of why animal control arrived to a high and dry facility lacks truth. Sounds like living in a gated community with busybodies.

Im so glad our gov't officials who are voted into office - are working WHAT REALLY MATTERS, in case of emergency and welfare of these animals this woman stepped in and helped. NOW YOU ARE GOING TO CHARGE HER! Who ever carries that order out - Vote them OUT!
