absolutely insane to fine teams for their players exercising basic human rights.

How about the basic tenet of following the rules of your employer? I know I do. And for a lot less damn money, I can assure you. I was raised that if you don't like the rules, get another job.

And i was raised that when you see injustice in the world you stand up and support your fellow human beings even when its inconvenient because that is what is right and just. Protest is not supposed to follow rules or be convenient. Thats what makes it a protest.

I have no problem at all with peaceful protests. Just don't do it on company time if it is against the rules. Do it on your time. Pretty simple. I have some rules at my job that I don't necessarily like, but I follow them.

I see what you're saying. I guess I disagree with the necessity to follow the rules when you're protesting even if its breaking the rules of your employer. Clearly thats where we differ in opinion.

And there's no harm in respectfully disagreeing, which you and I have done. Not enough of that either these days. Baskin-Robbins has 31 flavors for a reason.

If it is such a big deal, have the owners shut down the concession stands(beer, food, merchandise) 10-15 minutes prior to the anthem as well. Clear the hallways and lines within the stadium and have everyone stand that is in attendance.pic.twitter.com/NF3XoySuEM

It would be an interesting tv news segment....go to stadiums(NBA, MLB,NFL, etc.) with mulitple cameras and capture "other stuff" going on during the anthem.

#KeepKneeling "Go protest where you can't be seen" is not how America works. Players should not only refuse to stand for the anthem, but refuse to play altogether. Go on #strike to protect your right to a voice, and to help those whose voices can't be heard.

So you can protest, you can celebrate your First Amendment rights, but only if you do it in secret where you won't be embarrassed because you aren't doing anything about social issues.

Haha...why do people not understand how the 1st Amendment works??? You cannot do whatever you want on your employer’s dime. They are employees. If they don’t like it...they can quit. They can protest all they want on their own time.
