If only there were other countries that also had abortion, divorce, movies, and video games, so we could know if this statement was true. Ah, well. Better just make shit up, then!

Blame it on anything and everything - except ready access to firearms.

Funny thing is almost all the countries of the OECD protect women's reproductive freedom *and* consume our violent video games and movies, yet none have our gun violence problem - because none have our gun fanaticism.

wow! By that logic there should be an equal or greater number of such things happening in Canada, South Korea and Japan since those countries all have abortions and video games. But, they don't - they have gun control and hence; very few mass murders.

I would agree with him, in part. Too much gratuitous violence can numb human beings, and over time can degrade hope without people being fully aware of what's happening to them or why they feel bad.

The US isn’t the only country with video games etc yet there is only one country out of 172 that allows the systematic gunning down of children
-
It is only a part of the problem, and won't affect all people the same way. For those whose emotional needs aren't being met and who fill themselves with darkness and violence to fill their own void it can be. Having a lack of social & emotional skills is another area of concern.
-
Yet another area in which the US is way behind on the rest of the first world nations pathetic to say the US is the leader on anything given how far behind they are compared to other first world nations
-
Correction they do lead on one thing the mass death of children

Sorry Gov, but the real reason for devalued life might be systematic lack of empathy shown by parents, politicians and other less educated adults. You see, when xenophobia, misogyny, bigotry and lack of compassion for the poor becomes normalized, a state of devalued life exists

No. It’s pretty much the incredible excess of weapons and the ridiculous ease of accessing them. It’s not rocket science.
