And then, @ASchlossbergLaw yelled and cursed her out for not speaking English...

My granddaughter did the same thing at that age. It was very useful when telemarketers called, we'd just hand her the phone and she'd babble happily at them. Ah, I miss those days.

So many kids of this age are already doing this. My 15 month old niece does the same thing. She also holds the phone up like she's doing a selfie and says "cheese".

Excellent observational skills in one so young. Even gives pauses when the other person would be speaking. Child is eager to learn and quick on the uptake! Parents are probably being very careful now that they see how closely she watches & imitates them

It's sad and troubling. Especially intuiting that the parent(s) must spend time little or alot) on the mobile in front of the baby rather than engaging with her.
-
You took it that far?!
-
Not sure what you mean. However, there's too much longitudinal data on tech exposure on infants-teens development.
-
You straight up insinuated that the parents of this adorable child don’t spend enough time engaging with her. She is able to mimick her Mom because obviously Momma is pulling double-duty handling business and being a mom. Longitudinal data? Is it really “longitudinal”? 20-25 yrs?

That’s sad. Mom spends so much time on the phone her baby can mimic her.

She really is adorable. We adults can miss the fact that we are teaching those watching us all the time, whether we mean to or not. Good to keep in mind as we interact. Still, the world is shaped by those paying attention.
