I'm off topic, but this is why libertarianism is always a terrible idea. Cut back on government oversight, encourage self-regulation, and then guess what happens.
All planes should be inspected not just certain ones. The life's of the people who are using the airlines to travel should be the most important thing considered here. Wake up FAA!
Why is this done after the fact? Inspect all planes in the world for these issues as well. Stay proactive. Force airlines to have third party inspections once a month. Creates jobs and increases safety.
