The reaction of the other people should’ve been a clue that maybe a little more information was required to accurately assess the situation.

Ask those people who among them haven’t made a purchase. Ask the staff if it’s possible those people are telling the truth. Ask the manager what about these men is different from the other patrons.
-
No legit reason? Tell the manager that these gentlemen can’t be arrested for violating what appears to be a selective policy at best. Have one officer stay for a while to answer questions and smooth tensions. High level view, but you get the gist.
-
Or ask the manager who called had she ever spoken to them at all? That answer would have been no, and then bought them a cup of coffee and chatted a bit!
-
Yes! Thank you.

THEY WERE ARRESTED FOR LOITERING. LOITERING IS AGAINST THE LAW. But hey, the only reason anyone gives a shit is because they're black.
-
They only reason there were arrested is because they were black

What the Philly PD officers did was unacceptable. That‘s what he should‘ve said.

Oh, you‘re a pro troll. My apologies for the misunderstanding.

That isn't really any better. "The scope of the law" was purposely made vague so it could be unevenly enforced. Saying you are within that says nothing.

Come on guys..at least he’s apologizing..give him a break
-
What the hell is he apologizing for? The officers didn't read those brothas their Miranda Rights and they were left in jail for five hours. This dude is taking about not knowing the rules for coffee shops, he didn't address the substantive errors his officers & department made.
-
The officers did not make any errors. They did their job by responding to a complaint. Every business across the nation has the right under the law to ask a person/s to leave. If the person refuses the officer is duty bound to make an arrest.
-
Officers do not have to advise a person placed under arrest of the Miranda Warning. Miranda applies only to “custodial” questioning.

So black panthers can intimidate white people at polling places in Philly but business owners can’t enforce some reasonable loitering restrictions? Maybe these guys were there all day every day for the past few months? leftist press would never let that story see light of day
