I'm guessing, but I could be wrong, you're absolutely right.

I'm guessing she "doesn't see color"

People still don’t get it. There were other people in Starbucks that had not purchased anything and were just sitting. But she chose to ask the 2 black men to leave or purchase. Asking EVERYONE to purchase something or leave would have solved the problem.
-
They dont want to get it...we have been dealing with this kind of racist denial for 200 years and this is the reason we will never be rid of racism..they choose not to see or acknowledge it

So.....if your running a biz and you tell someone to leave and they refuse, how exactly is the right way to handle it?
-
Exactly! I own a business and would be forced to do the same thing. I find this baffling that people don’t get that
-
What people “don’t get” is that it’s STARBUCKS! Many, many people sit there and NEVER buy anything! These men were waiting for the 3rd person before ordering. That’s called respect! When a portion of your group arrives later, the polite thing to do is wait to order.
-
And apparently throwing a fit over non public bathrooms but who cares about getting the story straight. There was a white devil involved
-
The bathroom incident was at a different Starbucks. But why worry about getting the story right as long as it fits your pejorative.
-
If someone asks you to order or leave....you order or leave. Simple enough, they have the right to refuse service to anyone. Which they didn’t do btw they just asked them to buy or go. And I’ll ask again when someone refuses to leave what’s the go too move if not Johnny law?
-
You are correct. A company has the right to refuse service, as long as they are not discriminating. Starbucks itself has said the manager was discriminatory in her actions. I’m glad they are taking steps to correct this wrong but obviously some people are too blind to see.
-
Starbucks is saying what it needs to say to shut everyone up. Also I guarantee that that manager left their employment with a giant novelty sized Check to go away and be quite

Because you know there’s nothing more dangerous than a black man sitting minding his own business, but what surprised me was the fact there was about 14 cop that showed up, but it was a Starbucks so they probably figured free donuts
-
Nothing more annoying than having rules as a private business that you can enjoy our dine-in area for as long as you wish as long you make a purchase. It wasn't a public library, it was a privately owned business.

In my day, this was referred to as loitering. I’ve been ask to leave several eating establishments if I wasn’t going to buy anything. All they were doing is taking up space and making paying customers feel uncomfortable.
-
How did they make people uncomfortable? By being black at Starbucks?
