It’s nice to see someone is educated in a state that produced Mitch McConnell. Hoping the teachers are successful in their protests - they deserve it.

There or no male teachers in that picture. That is a huge problem with America's educational system, the lack of men in it. That's a major reason why young males today are very feminized. The feminization of the American male is a real affliction.

These teachers are a disgrace. Kids come first. Renegotiate during the summer.
-
Using your students and their education as a bargaining chip is repulsive.
-
I'm sure there were some talks that went no where. Successful bargaining requires leverage. Suck it up buttercup. Our children and our society will be better off when our teachers are respected and cared for.
-
I'm a teacher. I'm well paid. I would never use my students for my gain.
-
I'm glad you're LUCKY enough to consider yourself well paid. That is not the experience for many teachers. In negotiation, you have to bargain using what is truly valuable. Students are better off when teacher's fight for a better system including their pay.
-
Teachers get middle class pay and a secure retirement. We get our summers off, weekends, and several vacation days throughout the year. Our schedules closely match our children's days off. Plus, we get to do what we love with kids we love.
-
Every teacher I know is spending their personal time grading papers and lesson planning. They spend their summers doing continuing education, or working on an advanced degrees. In order to better serve. One I know takes his class on European cultural tours.
-
Yes, I grade papers on my own time, but I already have my Master of Education degree. I might get another, but that's my choice. Taking classes on Eurpoean Cultural tours? Where do I sign up? It's a great, exhausting, but extremely rewarding career. Just don't use kids to bargain
