The fatal crash last week involving a Tesla did take place while the vehicle was on autopilot, the company confirmed late Friday. https://abcn.ws/2GnXEsH pic.twitter.com/TNFfkviURj

There will be a lot more accidents like this and a lot more will die before this is either perfected or banned. I vote for banned.

Except 3,286 other people unfortunately passed away in car accidents that same day, as they statistically do every day. 1 accident that gets covered like crazy to play on the general populations technopanic and get clicks and views vs 3,000 fatal "regular" automobile accidents

I don’t want an explanation of why the crash was so devastating, I want an explanation how all the sensors failed causing the crash

The sensors didn't fail. They alerted the driver six seconds before with 3 separate warnings that we're all ignored.

Statistically still safer than human-controlled cars no matter how much hysteria these anti-driverless car headlines try to create. We don't otherwise post headlines on the daily human-controlled vehicle fatalities - why not?

This result from autopilot should not come as a surprise to anyone with common sense, regardless of which company made it.

This is what happens when you let machines do the thinking for you. It's very similar to what happens when you let the government do your thinking for you.
