ha. I spent my entire childhood walking to school in Philadelphia, without a parent. But of course neighbors cared back in the day.

I glad they did. I was actually horrified by the case in Maryland that brought this whole thing up. I spent a lot of time with out the direct supervision of my parent and it taught me a lot. I think more kids should spend time handling things for themselves.

I KNOW, RIGHT!? Say it ain’t so! Proud to be a ‘Boomer’, and a kid during the time when ‘sky wasn’t falling ‘.

-
That's great and all. I wonder how many fellow Boomers are grandparents that have inspired fear into their kids who are now parents. Boomers can't wipe their hands from helping to create this current world.

I think it was probably more the Gen X’ers. I chose not to procreate, for a number of reasons, including this one...

-
Speaking as a GenXer, who do you think raised us?
-
sorry to hear your parents were responsible for making you paranoid. So you passed it on to your kids then?
-
I am not paranoid and neither are my kids. I let my kids roam. I think we're done here.

Uh huh. Google mom arrested for letting child walk to school alone. There been multiple arrests in multiple states for letting kids be kids. In most cases it’s absolutely asinine.

In PA the schools are setup that you go to the one closest to home. If it’s more than a mile walk then you are bused. And before you lazy adults whine about a mile walk it equates on average of an 7-12 minute walk.

Sickies will love this.

Children much more likely to be abused by someone known to them than a stranger on the way to school - within reason our kids need to be given wings to learn to fly

Seems I'm blocked from RTing but no reference to who. Times they are achanging.
