The boy gained access to the firearm because the parents neglected to make sure the firearm was locked up. Parents need to be held responsible...... on the other hand a 9 year old knows the difference between right and wrong. I don’t think it was an accident. Anger problems

He reacted in rage as children often do when they don't get what they want. I highly doubt he was able to process the full consequences of his actions in the moment. But whether he needed psychological help before or not, he will certainly need it now. His parents ruined 2 lives.
-
No, they ruined one. They took another. Both kids are victims in this.
-
That was my point. 2 victims.
-
I know. Meant that to come across more as an agreement than it did.
-
It’s ok, it is heart wrenching and everyone is absolutely pissed!

Why is this happening every day why aren’t these guns locked up why was the gun loaded how/why does a nine year old now how to use a gun are there laws in place so parents are held responsible every gun left accessible to a child could be brought to school
-
Because there are no regulations in place for them to adhere to, with appropriate consequences if they don’t. i.e. gun control regulations.
-
But how about commonsense just as a parent with everything that is happening in the news I don’t keep prescription with the snacks in the house not because the label says they dangerous but because I know they are we need laws and regulations but we need people to be smart
-
Because the people who prioritize the 2nd amendment over all else are not known for their common sense.
-
Certainly not when it comes to gun control measures.

To the person who said shame she didn't have a gun to defend herself is just sick. there is nothing funny about a young girl's death. . She died needlessley if only the the gun was in a secure place this would not have happened. Let's not forget about the girl that died
-
I understand your POV, but I don’t think that was their intent. I believe they were attempting to show the stupidity of the NRA & GOP statement; “the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”
-
You may be right about the person's intent but only the person who wrote this comment knows for sure. They should be more clear next time. God bless this girl and her family
-
I think they thought the phrasing would allow for understanding. Your point is taken.
