And they continued to get government contracts because....

I wonder if you were to follow the money that there has to be a connection to those in government. I.E. Friends and family of elected and appointed officials hire these same companies.

It would be helpful to know if these accusations are common in construction. Without that information, this story is sort of useless.

Deregulation saves $$ creates jobs. The industry will regulate itself. HA!

A straight bridge has to be a lot stronger than a bridge designed as an arch. The builders didn't strengthen that bridge enough and could have probably saved a catastrophe had they laid the bridge across two bases off site. They would have seen cracks developing or collapse.
-
So apparently, this straight span of bridge had a tower with cable supports radially hanging from the top of the tower which hadn't been installed. As a builder, it is common knowledge that the bridge should have been shored and road closed until the tower and cables installed

SAFETY FIRST

A properly designed bridge would be overdesigned to withstand the worst case failure scenario & so that any failure would direct debris & structures away from traffic lanes. Erecting the center support before the initial installation could have made the failure less devastating

After this I predict they will no longer be in business, thankfully.

a witness says a crane snapped and dropped a load of concrete on bridge. Showed picture of dangling crane. I'm surprised no mention
