So can we talk about the sisters who didn’t even seem to care? Wow.

They probably thought it was a joke.
-
“Shooting at my school. I’m safe.” Yea that screams a future Queen of comedy right there. And even if they really did, that’s part of the problem as she was stating people are so desentisized to this form of tragedy “jokes” can be made smh.
-
You’d be surprised. Our school (I attend Douglas, yes) has had gun threats before. I remember one particular threat last year, in which something had been written on a bathroom wall. Of course, nothing happened, but many students didn’t take it seriously; some thought it a joke.
-
And that aligns to what she’s saying. I’m just shocked that we have come to the point that kids can send text messages out, that are in my eyes not comedic at all, and the first response is OMG LOL. That’s a terrifying realization of the direction our society could be heading.
-
It really is scary. For me, I wasn’t at school yesterday, and I got so many calls and texts from family members . . . The worst part was, not only did I believe them right away, but I wasn’t surprised.
-
I hate that you or anyone has to feel this. Glad you were safe and hopefully things can be done to dramatically lessen the future possibility of this kind of tradgedy happening again. If all else let’s protect the KIDS.
-
No kid should ever have to expect that this would happen. It’s sad, but many of us saw it coming—some students and teachers were able to identify the shooter without even seeing what he looked like. I never want to go back to school again, and it shouldn’t be that way.

Similar statement made by one of Jadon Aldean’s band members after the Vegas shooting. His whole outlook changed.
-
Bet he still uses armed security
-
I recall Him saying the band members and crew had guns with them but they were scared to use it in case the cops mistook them as the shooters.
-
You are correct. This is what he wrote.https://twitter.com/calebkeeter/status/914872808110510080 …
-
The sad fact is people won’t care until it happens to them

You’re actually saying I should experience being in a massacre like Vegas to change my mind on gun control

No way that boy should have been allowed to buy & own a gun. There is absolutely no purpose for this kind of weapon outside the military. I don't care about "gun enthusiasts". You don't this fire power to hunt with. STOP selling to the general population.

This is so true too! Evil people who want to kill will find a way. We can, though , make it harder for them to access these types of weapons.

I need you to take a good look at these charts. UK, Australia etc all have stricter gun laws compared to the US. If you fail to see the correlation of how easy it is to get guns in the US compared to the gun-related homicides, I feel sorry for you.pic.twitter.com/N7hM97txkG

The 2nd chart shows how many of the worst shootings are at HIGH SCHOOLS. Its 2 easy for kids & mentally ill rn to buy guns. You cant tell me that making guns illegal wont make it harder for them to buy a gun. FL kid was able 2 buy an AR before he could buy a beer w/ his age

Ah well, I can’t vote because I’m not American, though I do have thoughts on implementing laws/policies - such as stricter background checks, or even modernizing the 2nd amendment in any way, since that was made in 1791 when guns were capable of shooting only 1 bullet at a time.
