Condolences to the family. It seems to me we often get mixed messages about the flu vaccine. I get mine faithfully even though some years it is reported to be less effective.

Same here, two different sets of family friends have gotten the flu. 3 in one family, 4 in the other family. No flu shots on any of them. Luckily some got the tamiflu early on. Insurance, Medicare, medicaid all cover them. Better safe than sorry. Even if it lessons the symptoms

Stop with the BS, that shot is 20% effective at BEST and I caught the flu this year, I survived, you know who had it worse than I? Those folks who got their damn shot. They ended up in the hospital.. I would never give my kids this GARBAGE and neither should anyone else.
-
My kids have never had one either
-
I learned my lesson, some folks have to be directly HURT before they learn. That was me, working in heath care and believing what I was told. We've had no shots since 2008. After my kids were irreversibly damaged. I'd take measles, mumps and the flu at the SAME TIME over Autism.

Mine have had the shots required for school w/thankfully no issues, but, I can’t get behind that flu shot, specially since I seen how sick my friend gets every year cause it’s required in med fields.
-
Yup,its unnecessary.I might still be vaccinating if the CDC weren't so aggressive and reckless, but they show no signs of letting up. More shots being added. Homeschooling is where that lead us. I wear a mask at work for 4 months out of the year. Still better than Alzheimers etc

Flu has multiple strains, the vaccine is what they think will be the strongest strain that year. So if you get a different strain the vaccine won’t work, but it will still prevent you from getting another strain of the flu.

It was a pretty sad mistake! No one should go through this with your children! Vaccinate

"After hearing"..."They said..." after hearing what? Who is THEY? That could be anyone from a legitimate doctor to their cousins friends uncle who heard it from the pastor at the church.

Why didn't everybody else's "HERD IMMUNITY" save her?

Maybe. But then I read articles like this one relating the need for flu vaccines specifically in regards to "herd immunity" and I get confused. Maybe my local doctors who also state need for vaccinating for the flu to help herd immunity are confused also?http://www.cleveland.com/healthfit/index.ssf/2012/10/herd_immunity_and_the_flu_gett.html …
