If he's been here that long then he knew this was a possibility one day because he hasn't taken any steps to become a citizen.

Actually, there is no path to legal citizenship if you were brought here illegally, which is why DACA, and an eventual fix, are important for people brought here through no choice of their own as young children.

About 40,000 former DACA recipients did go on to get their green cards, becoming lawful permanent residents. Not true of ALL DACA recipients.

Sure, 40,000 out of almost 700,000 current recipients were able to get green cards so that they could travel internationally and return legally. President Trump removed this loophole though. That leaves 660k people who pay taxes & register w/ the gov.

They shouldn't rely on a 2 yr renewable program to allow them to stay here for a life-time.

Which is why they are waiting on Congress to act. DACA was a temporary fix until Congress could get it together and pass a DREAM act. They don’t want to rely on a renewable program. I’d encourage you to seek out local DREAM-ers & talk w/ them

I don't know why they imprison themselves! Just follow the rules. Fill out your paperwork, leave the country and stay in contact with the proper personnel. Mexico isn't a bad place to live. If it is then quit bad mouthing our government.

Our government and country accepts people constantly. It shouldn't be an issue for them to interact and fill out the proper forms. If it is...it is most likely because of what they are doing wrong.

Without a qualifying relative or an employer sponsor, there is literally no path to immigrate to the United States. Ever. There is no form to fill out. Most family reunification options also currently have 22-year wait times for Mexican nationals.

A wife isn't a qualifying relative? Children are qualifying relatives? Mexico needs to support their citizens. Why can't the whole family live in Mexico? Our country or government is not responsible for their actions. Neither should we be criticized.

Right. The person is subject to a 10 year bar from the US and the wife cannot be a sponsor. Children cannot sponsor parents until they are 21. Your solution means tearing children out of the only home they have ever known. Or tearing apart the family. Show some heart.

So a husband who just became a citizen is now sponsoring his wife. Since when can a wife not sponsor her husband??

When a person is inadmissible due to previous unlawful presence. Or entry without inspection. In order to get status through a marriage, a person like this - here since he was 2 - would likely have to leave, be banned for 10 years and then reapply.

I am a Republican Christian and I think you are sad. People have your attitude until they need help, have a gay relative or a friend who is being deported. Then they suddenly get it. It is called the Chaney affect. You should consider it. Btw, Republicans imagration/labor.

One lessons/wisdom with age is that being Christian is hard and the choices are not always yours. That does not mean you don’t make them. Loving others is not a suggestion...it is a command from God. Btw, with some time and reps it starts to feel right. Because it is. WWJD
