This is BS from the @ABC
The Russian jet intercepted the US spy plane as it was about to cross into Russian territory. It is a legitimate interception and id.

The US is very lucky the Russians don’t shoot them down outright so close to and crossing into their airspace. If the incident was reversed and a Russian spy plane flew close to US border, what then?

“According to the U.S. official, the Navy plane was flying over the Black Sea when it was intercepted by a Russian SU-30 "Flanker" fighter.”
-
“At its closest point, the Russian fighter came as close as 50 feet to the Navy aircraft, but it was a maneuver flying in front of the American plane that has led to the U.S. labeling the encounter as unsafe.”

Russia was never a friendly combatant. Beginning 2017 the US has been having occurrences with Russian aircraft and our Navy ships keeps on having an unprecedented amount of accidents w/ deaths. Our election was hacked by Russia. Gee.. we might have a huge Russia problem.

There have been at least 3-4 Russian spy plane reports over US bases in the last year. The likelihood of the majority of the US agencies have been infiltrated and compromised already is stark. Some pretty dark times for
coming unfortunately.

Sounds like the Russian fighter jet was messing with our surveillance plane... what do you do after the fact? Stay ready for next time.

This is like Russian Air Force flying around Gulf of Mexico just outside US airspace

Not the first time...definitlely will not be the last...as long as they're not "weapons free"...it's all good

Are the Poseidon aircraft ever given fighter escort?
-
Not usually...not required...many countries do intercepts...I've actually done them myself...probably making something out of nothing
