It is though, putting that in the state flag is basically saying we refuse to admit we lost the Civil War. Which is true of a lot of southerns who are still trying to fight it. It's honestly what Trumps election was really about.

Yes that’s why he won, exclusively, southern states... right?

Then let Mississippi endorse racism. I won't buy a single product made in that state. We have all we need on the west coast.

http://www.netstate.com/economy/ms_economy.htm … One can connect the dots on finding if a company makes their products from any given product they use. If the company uses a product out of that state, then no harm in asking the company to find a better source.

as long as they dont use up tax payer money, cool...keep bringing these completely ridiculous law suits up. It just wastes their money. What a joke.
-
It's his Constitutional right & also costs tax $; the JOKE is these states are openly prideful about their treasonous past; they fly their treason flags higher than Old Glory. "Heritage not hate" is complete BS rhetoric. White supremacy is America's terminal illness.
-
its their heritage. you want to tell black americans to disregard their black heritage? Go ahead, its the same. you just don't align with their heritage so you dont relate. same with whites not relating to black heritage. u don't get to say which heritage is correct.
-
Where is the pride in treason? Genocide? Human trafficking? They committed unforgivable crimes and those flags should fly on state property? Nope.
-
The north was involved in all those. Samethings. Should we say the same about what was their flag that became what we know now as the American flag? History is not kind to either side of that civil war.
-
In-congruent deflection noted. The South seceded. They commit treason & honor it in their emblem. Theirs is a legacy of hatred during Jim Crow; this "Confederate" honor is their attempt to promote the same message of hatred & violence towards POC. That is all.

supreme court. God bless America

Very poor decision. Siding with bigotry demeans democracy.

Ha! Ha! Ha! Another guy who didn't read his history books & wants to associate the break away of the Confederacy w/ Nazis. That would mean almost all the wealthy, white & black, were Nazis because they had slaves. Slavery was ending everywhere around that time..but Africa & Asia.
-
Sorry, it most certainly is equated with white supremacy.
-
Pardon...many also came in under the British when we were only a colony...which makes it more white supremacist than the Confederate flag...especially the battle flag which 1,000s of US soldiers flew in battle against the Germans, Italians, Koreans, Viet Cong, Iraqi's, Afghanis..
-
Really you are the minority. Most people do think of white supremacy when they see this flag. The whites thought they were the more exalted race during the civil war. Owning other humans as slaves promotes the idea of one race being superior to the other. Take it down.
-
Here is a too wordy article that does have an agenda but lays out some simple facts. There were black plantation owners who owned black slaves besides middle class blacks who owned black slaves. Please get informed before trying to correct people.https://www.theroot.com/did-black-people-own-slaves-1790895436 …
-
I concede to some of what you are saying. Good article. However, it is beyond all of that now. Today the confederate flag represents white supremacy. It just does now no matter what historical premise it originated from. The confederate flag symbolizes hate and bigotry.
-
The only people that the confederate flag symbolizes hate & bigotry are to the uninformed..or those who are already that..on both sides of it. Sadly since most people have historically been sheep someone in power has spent a lot of money exploiting it to divide us. Not good!
-
Go Coffee, I disagree completely with you. However you have a right to your opinion. This isn't just about the past. The flag has become deeply offensive to many people and I stand with them. I'll sign off on this for now. You have a lot of other people to try to convince.
