Hmm...tricky situation..on one hand, school handled badly. On the other, did the kid really know what he was doing at 6 yrs old? Hard to say

-
Sadly, he probably understands it much better than his white classmates. No 6-yo should be learning why police treat him differently in 2017
-
..but again, I agree the school did not handle the situation in the appropriate way.

We're teaching our kids to know a racist song when they hear one and to protest against police murdering unarmed citizens with impunity

1. The song was created when my ancestors were enslaved so, no it's not for me. 2. No. Cops are flawed like all ppl & should not kill

the kid didn't know what he was doing. he saw it on tv and followed. that's why we should set a good example to follow. good for the school
-
Nah he was doing the right thing

You do know that weighted statistical data shows whites are killed equally as blacks by the police.

I don't understand...greatest place on earth to live...people risk their lives to get here ...yet citizens show no appreciation
-
Peacefully Utilizing a constitutionally protected right is showing appreciation.
-
There are times that you don't exercise the right to its full extent out of respect for those who paid the ultimate price for it
-
We would be a drastically different country if we followed your rules. Likely still have segregated schools, bathrooms, and lunch counters.
-
It would be drastically different for certain....why do you assume I believe people should be segregated
-
I said nothing about your personal views. Just making a point that being respectful for protests never got anything done.
-
You implied my "rules" would never have moved us from segregation ... in fact my "rules" have never embraced judging because of race
