I am sorry for their losses...but I feel the show does more good for mental illness & suicide prevention..

I've been watching with my teen. It's opened up some amazing conversations for us. Some spots are really hard, but it's been good for us.
-
I agree! I watched it myself first so I would know what to expect before watching it with my teen. Much more good than bad from this.
-
When we were young home was safe. That's no longer true. We need to discuss the effects of bullying today & suicide not being an option.
-
Cyber bullying is something we are not accustomed to.

I'm deeply sorry to those who lost loved ones. My
goes out to them, I can't imagine their pain. But I don't think this show is to blame.

Talking about suicide doesn't "trigger" suicide.
-
No, but glorifying it has devastating consequences on teens already in crisis. They were begged to reconsider this and its marketing.
-
The show doesn't glorify suicide. It talks about it. I believe that is more helpful for teens than not talking about it at all.
-
Experts disagree- and the fallout has been horrific. Not every teen in crisis has a stable and available responsible person to help them...
-
process the information in a healthy and productive way.
-
Experts? Like who? --and I agree many teens do not have trustworthy people in their lives to talk to.
-
Mental health experts...particularly for adolescents. If I can find it before I fall asleep- I'll post. Long day- working a teen suicide...
-
actually. Topic is fresh on my mind and heart.

Blaming things for suicide is so stupid. When they do it it's cuz they've been planning it for awhile. Wake up ppl n stop blaming other shit
-
Parents need someone too blame, but it isnt the shows fault
-
Exactly but instead of looking at what they're kids are going through and getting them help they wanna be shit parents and blame other shit

Not the shows fault that their kids were stupid and don’t know the difference between a show trying to help and influence
-
With a name like yours - who is "stupid"? Chiming in where intelligence in required is not for you.

Sad these teens died. Tv/music/book... didn't make them do anything. Much more was going on. The book/show alert friends/parents 2 signs.
