I used to wonder why can't parents just watch their kids better than needing a leash... then I had a kid.... leash em up !

I had the same mentality until I had 2 kids who are 1 year apart. I see no problem with this

A parent taking responsibility and watching his kid. Good for him.

Good for him. I would rather see her on a leash than an amber alert or a missing child poster.

I've seen people with backpack leashes on their kids. What's so bad about that? The kids won't get lost. Big whoop!

I was put in these as a kid, cause I always ran off. I'm 32 and probably still need one.

Congratulations to this Oregon father, he put his child safety first. Anyone who disagrees with this does not have a small child.

I'm absolutely on board w/ these. Seen too many kidlets wandering alone, separated from family. Leash=security/safety/independence

Used them on my kids. My son had a tendency of running off. Was afraid he would get lost or hurt.

The parent with their child on a leash always knows where their kid is which is more than you can say for ppl who let small children wander

I support him 100%. Had to do the same thing with my son when he was younger. People who don't have kids don't understand.

why is this a big deal, hell even SNL used to do skits with Mike Meyers with a boy on a leash. they used to be used all the time in 80s 90s

I used a leash for my twins when they were toddlers when it was really unpopular. But it gave me peace of mind.

Anyone who's ever had a 2-yr old knows this is good parenting.

Good for him! Those who don't understand have never had a child who needed one.

I had 4 kids and now 5 grandkids. Out of the 9 there's 1 child that considered a leash. Strapped in stroller or leash with some freedom
