Based on data from JHU, India had about 5,000 cases in May. So therefore, we can conclude from this study that an additional ~500,000 cases per day were going undetected. That would be an additional 15 million cases making India at about 20 million cases.

This is precisely why America has the most confirmed cases. It's not because we've spread it the most. It's because we have INCREDIBLE testing capacity and we confirm when ANYONE gets infected. Other countries just go unreported and undetected.
