Why is a second wave “likely”?

We don’t say this enough ....”but some say that may not translate into an equally dramatic spike in deaths”

Finally seeing a decrease in death rate!
Down from 4.32% in May to 2.98% for Sept so far
This may be immunity response along with proper treatment. Steroid treatments are becoming more effective, now we just need a stable antiviral medication and a properly tested vaccine -
It's way too early to tell if there is an immune response, given that the virus can turn benign in your system until triggered. A good chunk of steroids have been known to irritate the inflammation further caused by covid, resulting in permanent damage to your respiratory system.

Even if it doesn't result in an increase in the deaths as far as I know there has been no determination, obviously, of the long term effects of COVID-19. It may have deadly consequences later. It, IMO, is not a virus to be taken lightly.
