The department store model’s time has come and gone. Sears, JCPenney, Macy’s, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, SFA—all are overdue to either fold or close a significant number of stores. I just don’t see those stores being profitable as we navigate our economy out of this pandemic.
-
Some might survive. The ones that grew slowly I see having a better chance. Von Maur and Boscovs are 2 that come to mind. I agree with the rest however. It’s going to be a complete change. The Covid pandemic just speed up what was already happening.

Wait, I thought all businesses were doing great. I don’t like to buy online, sight unseen. Hate it. Son bought me a birthday gift at Amazon. What a pain to return it.
-
Pain to return? Get prime. Just click on "return", go to the store they ask you to return it to, and once they scan u get the money back immediately. WAY easier than any store lol
