Gosh, how could such a thing happen?

My idea for protecting beachgoers is to use drones (aerial and submersible) and AI with cameras pointed into the water to detect and monitor sharks from above and underwater. A shark safety alert system. It would allow protection without obtrusively affecting the environment.

Use a few automated drones in the sky to survey up and down the beach tracking the movements of any large animal. Use submersible drones to detect animals offshore as they enter and exit beach areas. Use cameras on lifeguard towers to detect shark fin sightings.

They should get rid of the nets. If you’re too scared to swim in the ocean, swim in a pool instead of killing a bunch of animals in a net. It’s cruelty for no good reason.

Agree. Many have been trying to for years. Unfortunately, tourism is a big industry here & tourists expect to be able to swim in the sea free from shark attacks & where there’s money....Not the first calf caught this season either. Another was freed several weeks back.

This reminds me of the federal government... You appreciate the help. Not knowing they created the trap in the first place
