Is CA limited by a lack of generation capacity or can the distribution lines not handle the current drawn? The article isn't clear on it. If it is problem with a lack of generation, I feel even worse for Diablo Canyon and San Onofre nuke plants shutting down.

Over dependency on solar caused this. When the sun went down, the lights went out. Not a coincidence... We need enough generation online to cover every watt of solar, but companies are getting cheap and don't want to "overproduce" power with generation. This will be the norm

It’s not because power isn’t available! Ready, willing, and able... But this is what they want.

It’s not generation or lack of ability to buy energy off the grid. This is about the distribution network being pushed beyond its max design so they are shedding load as a safety measure.

For the record, the solar plants are doing their jobs. When the sun goes down, demand also drops precipitously so this is a red herring. Daytime leak of 1200-1700 is the critical time when solar is at its best.

It's F'ING HOT here! It was 91 at 9 am today. 10 day forecast: 110, 110, 108, 110, 110, 108, 105, 105, 103 & 102! Overnight lows from 79 to 87! I don't even have AC; I have a swamp cooler.
We had rolling blackouts yesterday. I'm on the same grid as a hospital so I'm good! Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo
