I support the continuous movement against the racial discrimination, but I strongly disagree with this gesture in Bristol - surely the 16th century statute should have remained where it was for the past 400 years.

Well, a statue is usually erected to praise someone, or to applaud behaviour. It's perfectly possible to conclude after a few hundred years that someone wasn't as good.

Needs to be re-examined, including its 'royalty' It's a country where the 'Great' in Britain was built on imperialism, slavery and stamping not just on other countries but an aristocracy impoverishing the majority of their own citizens for centuries.

He sold 100,000 slaves. 20,000 of them were dumped into the Atlantic ocean. Many of the slaves were tortured, raped, etc. You cant honour such evil people, its an insult to humanity.
