Because police unions and cities protect cops no matter how egregious their actions may be when death or injury occur in fear of lawsuits. Now if a cop gets caught looking at kiddie porn he’ll be fired and charged in a heartbeat because there is no liability.

I’d be surprised if a jury convicts of second degree murder. Unless they know a lot more than we do, the prosecutors are setting a pretty lofty goal for themselves.
