From a CNBC article: The Bureau of Labor Statistics used as its reference period the week ending March 12 If they use data ending April 12th for April, that's when you'll likely see numbers that parallel the jobless claims we've seen.

Next month's report will be disastrous, b/c today's report covers only the first two weeks in March. The next one will show millions of jobs lost and unemployment in the double digits.

Wrong, unemployment insurance claims reached a low point. The true numbers of unemployed continue to rise. In 2000 we had 158 million employed, in 2019 we still only had 158 million and it barely topped 159 in 2020.
