Your didn’t read the article. The problem isn’t that she, a back woman, was required to sign the document. The problem is that she observed multiple white customers not having this requirement to sign.

Businesses use hotel rooms as "Hospitality suites" all the time. They serve booze & food to convention attendees. These get-togethers sometimes get loud & rowdy.
