I agree with this, and feel uncomfortable when I see parents force their kids to hug/kiss someone they don't know. Kids need to be allowed to learn to 'listen to their gut'. If a parent consistently overrides that discomfort, there will be no 'gut' left to listen to as an adult.

I had to tell someone the other day it's NOT ok to touch MY child. At a
#Fryselectronics in Plano. Dude would not get the clue. So I had to smack his hand away and tell him sternly and directly and of course HE was offended. Fortunately it was not my fists and just his ego

I'm in the Dallas area too and old men will just come up to me and my 14 month old son and touch his hair try to tickle his feet it's so weird and uncomfortable some people do not understand boundaries.
