I wanna know who that white passenger was.

James Blake was the driver. From what I remember (grew up in AL, learned about her in school a lot) several black people sat in the 'whites only section' until the bus got crowded. They were told to move. All but Rosa did. She had history with the driver and he had her arrested.

Her eyes are so animated, it's quite striking! I wonder how she'd feel to know it was made for her. It's really a beautiful statue.

Hey I'm conservative and from AL originally and I fully support it. The monument, not removing it lol. Rosa Parks was an important lady, and we can't just ignore mistakes of our past because they were wrong. It's a good reminder of how far we have come.

Why did it have to take 64 years though?

She's got a lot of monuments in her honor, I think this one is headline worthy because it's close to the "scene of the crime" and in front of the new Rosa Parks museum dedicated to her. Also museums in Troy and Selma and many others in the state!
