Its actually the reporting that goes on. The coverage of certain crimes is more widely published in FL I believe. Thats why you see it more often, its not that FL is a mad max shithole wasteland.

It's a combination of both. Florida really is full of crazy and violent people, but the easy access to police records makes it so every crazy incident gets published.
