Maybe a little too much female empowerment in this case? As for the bouncer, I don’t care if one of my friends came up behind me did that..as soon as someone squeezes my neck, I’d be throwing elbows to get them off. This could have ended far worse for the girl

It shooks me how many women are laughing at this . Double standardize them selves , what’s the difference between this women and the one that raged at a 8 year old boy. Self control gets you far if you feel this threatened that your gonna harm people you should be in VIP or home

He may be the worst bouncer I've ever seen. He just let her do it.

Is strangling a separate offense from assault? Weird.

probably bc cutting off someone's air supply is potentially a lot more dangerous than throwing punches

But there's already aggravated assault for more serious assaults. Just seems weird to specify like this.

looks like new york made strangulation its own thing bc 1. it's super common in domestic abuse, and 2. perps like to either deny doing it or claim it was a sex thing.https://www.reuters.com/article/us-strangulation-newyork/new-york-law-now-makes-choking-a-crime-results-in-2000-arrests-idUSTRE7367H020110407 …

Is there more to this story? He didn't resist or defend himself in any way. It seems odd.

Apparently you didn’t read the article. I’ll save you the trouble. He didn’t resist because he thought it was one of his friends messing around with him.
